The night before the day of my 21st birthday was quite nice. I invited a bunch of people for dinner but 80% of them couldn't make it so in the end it was just Joanna and Amanda and me at Jake's. We ate a lot of good food and listened to a lot of good music. Well, I ate a lot of good food. The girls weren't as hungry. But yeah, the music was good.
I then drove us up to Genting and we arrived at the resort right as it turned midnight, so fortunately I did not have to turn 21 inside a car park. We had hot chocolate and I got a sexy card from Jo and some delicious repurposed Valentine's Day cupcakes from Geraldine via Amanda. I also got cookies and candy. It was a very edible batch of presents.
We went to the casino and I gave Jo my wallet so I wouldn't overspend. I went in with RM100 and won RM35, so that was nice, but I also lost RM135 so that was less nice. It was still really fun, though, and I was expecting to lose it all from the start so it all went according to plan.
We were supposed to go clubbing or for karaoke afterwards, but Jo and Amanda were tired so I just dropped them off at their houses and spent some time on the computer at home.
I didn't sleep so well because Jan kept opening the curtains to let the light and heat into the room. I woke up at 4pm and Papa gave me a lecture about expectations and dinner or something and he made it pretty clear that he didn't want to go out for dinner and that he'd rather eat in, so I decided to go get some McD's with Jan. Jan was busy with DotA 2 so I went to swim first. While I was downstairs, Papa sent me a text but he received no reply and got upset. When I came back he gave me a long talking-to because everyone was upset that we weren't going out to eat. After that we went for pizza. While everyone else was eating, I went out to get a Pepsi. When I came back, my classified chicken pizza was not there. Apparently the order was mixed up. I wanted to go out and get my own pizza but Papa demanded that I eat the pizza we had gotten so I stormed into the kitchen because I was upset at having to eat pizza that I didn't even want on my birthday. Mama tried to calm me down but she did so by invading my personal space with a pat on the shoulder. When I tried to swat her hand away, Jan came into the kitchen and told me not to "fucking hit mum" and attacked me. After things calmed down I left because I didn't want to be at home. Ian was there, too, and he kinda stank. I don't think he showers very much now that he's moved out.
I went to get ice cream with Jo and Amanda. Along the way they implied that I need to shower more. That was kinda tough to hear but I'm glad they were honest about it. Now I can take steps to improve. I'm still pissed that this country's so hot and humid that we need two showers a day here, though.
At Baskin-Robbins, the cashier lady tried to give me sass so Jo and Amanda resolved to get her fired. It wasn't really necessary, but it's nice to know that they care and I guess it's better for the world if ice-cream people in general are nicer so I suppose I support the firing of cretinous cashiers to make ice-cream eating a more pleasant experience for everyone. Joanna wrote a post about it.
Anyway we went to McDonald's 'cause I hadn't eaten anything all day aside from the ice-cream. I had maybe my last Prosperity Burger of this prosperity period, but I couldn't finish it. I only had about half, but it was a double, though, so I guess I had the equivalent of one burger so that's fine. Anyway Amanda saw someone she hadn't seen in a long time so she went off to talk to him while Jo and I talked.
Afterwards Amanda needed to get back home and Papa wanted me back so I drove the girls back. Amanda told us about how dangerous her neighbourhood was becoming, with a burglary down the road and an attempted burglary on her house when Geraldine and she were home.
Anyway the fourth was a lot better and the fifth so far has been okay. It's also Jan's birthday today so we'll be eating out. Papa is keen not to repeat the mistakes he made on my birthday.
Also unrelated to all that, I've made new friends at work. It's nice to have someone to talk to in between calls.
Also also, the Tans came over to visit near the end of December and start of January. We watched Les Misérables and it was very good. They also came over for dinner and karaoke. Aunty Rosie made some very nice dessert. We sang karaoke. Well, I sang karaoke and other people listened. Elselyn asked a few times why I kept choosing sad songs. Sad songs are easier to sing; the machine scores you higher for crooning compared to regular singing. Anyway hopefully that's the last time I ever see her; I prefer to deal with my problems by ignoring them. For example, there's a girl at work that I haven't spoken with since sometime in 2011. I don't think I have feelings for her anymore but I don't really care to find out.
Jan got drunk near the start of the new year and he kept wanting to fight me. His friends had to restrain him. Jan is an angry person. He yells in his sleep, mostly about DotA and football.

Copping Out with a List Post
So here's what happened:
- Lost is finished. I've been following it for six years and now it's over. I am both sad and happy. I enjoyed the finale.
- I'm in college for one last semester doing only one subject: Bahasa Kebangsaan. I was supposed to do Java Programming, too, but there was a scheduling clash. I was still being billed the resource fee for Java, but I got that sorted out.
- Bahasa Kebangsaan has been pretty easy so far. It's every Friday for three hours, so it's a bit long. On the plus side, I managed to get in the group with the prettiest girls for my assignments.
- I never actually went for karaoke. There were too many postponements and nobody could make it, so it was cancelled.
- I watched Toy Story 3 recently with Hannah. It was really, really good. One of Pixar's best, and that's saying something. I missed the end because I had drank three cokes and I really needed to go, but we managed to sneak into another theatre to watch it there. We also got to compare the 2D of that theatre to the 3D of ours. The difference is very subtle.
- Our whole family and Ebony went to Penang recently. Ian and Jan were there for Pesta, so we were there to support them. It was a fun vacation.
- Hannah, my dad, and I saw a dude doing a snake show by the pool. He kissed a cobra and a king cobra. It was pretty awesome.
- We had lunch at the Hard Rock cafe. It was pretty dang cool. Hannah told me to put my new sunglasses on this statue of Michael Jackson. It worked pretty well until they fell off and now the lenses are a little dinged up.
- I got some new sunglasses and the new Netherlands Jersey from the night market. It's missing some details, but it's still pretty cool. Altogether they cost me RM50.
- I watched the England - USA match with some England fans in the hotel. The fans were more entertaining than the match was.
- I got to take a warm bath.
- I had to drive back from Penang to Ipoh.
- Susanna wet herself in Ipoh and there was nobody home except for Ebony, Hannah, and me, so we had to clean her up.
- A few weeks before this I drove Audrey, Hannah, and my dad to FRIM to see Mama and Susanna, who were on a picnic.
- Along the way, a lorry smashed into the back of the car in a roundabout. He drove off before we could get his number.
- I noticed that the road to FRIM was at the intersection with a huge amount of cigarette butts that Joanna, Solo, and I had passed when we were lost during Davinia's surprise party.
- We saw a couple of really big fish in FRIM.
- The Tans visited for a day or something. Hannah and I picked Elselyn, Ruben, and Stefanie up from the LCCT. Jan might have been there, too. I have driven to the LCCT very many times.
- There are many kittens outside of where I have my Bahasa Kebangsaan classes. They are cute and don't mind getting close to people but they still won't let anyone touch them. I'm working on gaining their trust by feeding them chicken. They won't eat fish.
- I'm playing a lot more RuneScape now. I have a lot more in-game money than before because I met a dude who is really good a predicting the market. Lately we're riding a trend caused by a game change that will give us a 50% return on investment. Considering the usual ROI is around 15%, this is looking very good.
- Hannah let me sleep over in her room because she was scared of the dark or something. It was very cozy and comfortable but she told me a secret (which I already knew, and teased her about) and made me promise that I would do all sorts of stuff for her if I told anyone. So now I've gained nothing, but she can threaten me with all sorts of nonsense if she thinks I'm teasing her too much or whatever.
- I'm following the World Cup. I find that football in and of itself is pretty boring, but when you've got national pride and stuff added to the mix, it can get quite exciting. The Netherlands has done really well so far.
- I lost a whole lotta money gambling. My float's been reduced by RM250 back to what it was a few months ago. It used to be a whole lot more, but that didn't last for long.
- That is about it, I think.

From Thursday to Today
Nicholas' birthday was pretty good. I was an hour late, but I didn't miss much. I ate a lot of lamb and drank five beers, and I gave Nick his zappy-laser thing as a present. A lot of people from college were there, along with a lot more of Nick's family and other friends. It was quite a fun atmosphere. Nicholas proposed to Carmeni in one of the songs he sung, and her response was "Yeah, whatever", because apparently he proposes to her a lot when he's driving her around. I guess she'll know it's for real when she sees a ring. At the end of the party everyone from college danced, and then we all went home. I caught one of the last few trains, since I arrived in Bangsar station just a few minutes before 11:30, when the LRT closes.
The next day my whole family left to Ipoh for Chinese New Year. This year was even more boring than last year, but it was still quite fun. I only set off one firecracker, but there was still plenty of gambling and karaoke, and for the first time I could drink beer, so that was okay, too. Also we went to the cybercafe a few times and I played Left 4 Dead 2, so that also prevented me from getting bored. The Ang Paos were very nice, of course. I got something like RM400 altogether, but I lost RM100 of that gambling. Ah well, that's Chinese New Year for you.
I drove my dad's car back to KL. Driving the highway is tedious and not much fun. I much prefer sleeping in the back seat. When we got home I took a nap and then Hannah and I went to this open house. We arrived just as Dr Mahatir was leaving, so we didn't actually get to see him. Oh well. I had some satay and Hennessy VSOP and a lot of peanuts. The inside of the house was really cool; they had very comfortable rugs and sofas. The host of the open house also grew shaped melons, which I thought was pretty cool.
Anyway I didn't do my exercise all throughout my stay in Ipoh, and I didn't do them today because I only remembered about them right after my shower, and by then it was too late since I'd get all sweaty again and then I'd need another shower. I'll start again tomorrow.
Also Hannah is being selfish with her books. She recently got the box set of all The Princess Diaries, and I read a few of them in Ipoh because I was bored and they are pretty good books, but now she won't lend me the fourth one. It was worse in Ipoh because I had nothing else to read (I had just finished Guns, Germs, and Steel) but now that we're back in KL I guess I can find another book. Still, I want to find out what happens next. I don't like leaving things unfinished.

Quizzes and More Birthdays
On Thursday, I had two quizzes and an assignment to submit. The quizzes were easy enough, and my assignment was turned in on time, so that was nice.
I slept on the couch at night because I was too lazy to take a shower and exercise. I did all that when I woke up the next morning.
It was Faith and Jan's birthday on Friday. I went to Christian Fellowship before celebrating. The speaker was a guy who was detained under the ISA for a while a few decades ago. He wrote a book about his experiences, which I bought. It was pretty good.
For Jan's birthday we celebrated with some cake and a meal at Chili's. After that we had a lot of people over for poker. I managed to win RM30, so that was nice.
Also I bought my first can of beer today, and I finished that Zero Hour GLA campaign, and Hannah gave me my birthday present, which was marshmallows and licorice.

My First Movie of the Year and Such
I woke up in the afternoon again today. Hannah and Stefanie wanted to go to Mid Valley to watch a movie, so I said I'd drive them there since I wanted to watch Avatar. They were quite impatient, though. Hannah was very glad when I'd finally finished my (delicious) lunch and gotten ready to go.
First my dad drove to the pharmacy to pick up some meds and kit-kats, then he let me have the car. It took me a really long time to find parking in Mid Valley. Stefanie got sick of waiting, so she climbed out of the car while it was still moving. I stopped to let Hannah out after that. I found a parking space a few moments later, which was nice.
The line for the movie was pretty long. Someone near the end got distracted, so I walked to the spot in front of him and he didn't notice. Hannah and Stefanie hung around trying to work up the courage to ask someone in the front to buy tickets for them, but it didn't work out. Instead they found Ebony somehow and started talking to her. I said hi to Ebony as her sister and she passed me, but I might as well have been invisible. Her sister pointed me out to her right before they went down the escalators though, so she did end up noticing and saying hi.
Hannah managed to cut forward a bit in line, and Stefanie and I joined her. When I got to the counter, the guy told me that all the screenings of Avatar in 3D were sold out. There was no way I was going to watch it in 2D, so I almost left, but I decided to see what Hannah and Stefanie were doing. The guy at their counter managed to get me a ticket to the nine thirty screening. It was in a spot off-centre and real close to the screen, but it was a lot better than nothing. I drove back home and took a nap while waiting.
At around seven I woke up and went to pick up Hannah and Stefanie. We drove around a bit while waiting for Ryan Seacrest to reach the number one song of the decade on his countdown. It was "Yeah" by Usher. The aughts were a pretty shitty decade musically, methinks.
After I dropped the girls off I went back to Mid Valley. I had dinner at Burger King and omitted my usual items of an ice cream and extra onion rings. I know why I left out the onion rings, but I think the only reason I didn't have an ice cream was because I forgot to order one. BK ice creams are wonderful.
The hall that was screening Avatar opened a few minutes late, and so I missed a few previews because of my decision to finish the large coke that came with my meal at BK. The movie itself was awesome, especially so because of the 3D. I think that I might watch it again, if I get the chance. The plot and dialogue weren't as stupid as I thought they would be, and the visuals matched my high expectations.
When I was walking back to the car after the movie finished, I got a text from Athirah. I gave her a call after I parked back home. I think it's the first time I've ever spoken to her. There were a lot of awkward pauses, but I did my best to cheer her up.
After I'd said goodnight I went upstairs, turned off the shower that Hannah had left dripping for goodness knows how long, changed into my swimming stuff and went downstairs for my ten laps. This time I wasn't interrupted by any guards, thankfully. On my way upstairs I noticed people in the multi-purpose hall. I wanted to investigate closer, but I didn't recognize anyone on first glance as I was passing, so I decided not to. I changed my mind after I heard some very familiar-sounding laughter. Turns out Ian and his friends were playing poker inside. Joel was winning quite a lot. I talked about Avatar and tried to convince Joel to watch it in 3D. It seems everyone I talked to has seen it in 2D, which is such a waste. This is probably - no, definitely - the best-looking 3D movie ever, plus subtitles for the alien language are in English in the 3D version so you can actually understand what's going on. It's more than worth the extra six ringgit.
Anyway because I'm posting this at 4am, I'm going to be hella tired at church tomorrow. Oh well.

I Slept Through Christmas
Yesterday was Christmas. After waking up, my family opened presents and stuff. Jan was very happy with his iPod touch cover that I got him. Hannah couldn't find any of the things on my list, so I'm going shopping with her later to get something I'll like. Susanna got the most presents.
After opening presents, everyone except for me went to church. I stayed at home and went on the computer and climbed the stairs and such. At around ten forty-five I got on my motorcycle and rode to Amanda's house. It is very nearby. I wasn't sure if I had the right address, but when I called her phone nobody picked up, so I decided to just go ahead and ring the bell. Right after I did that I knew I got the right house because I heard her yell "What?! I haven't even showered yet!"
Her mum let me in and gave me some orange juice, and I wandered around the living room looking at pictures of the family and stuff. There was also a tray of cookies, and they were very delicious. Amanda came out a bit later and told me that I was really early even though I arrived at the time stated in the text because everyone else was coming later. I talked to Amanda and her sister and we went out to get ice while waiting for the other guests to arrive. Most of the day went by like that, just talking and watching new guests come in and such. It was nice. When Davinia arrived I invited her and Amanda to the New Year's Eve party at my place, and we also made a tentative plan to go see Avatar on Monday. We'll see how that works out. Also, one of Amanda's younger relatives, this three-year-old girl, got a tea cart and a great big set of toy food. I assembled the former. For my efforts I was rewarded with an imaginary tea float, which is imaginary tea with a scoop of toy ice-cream in it. It was hypothetically delicious.
Amanda has a very comfortable house, with a lot of cushions and two bean bags. In the afternoon I fell asleep a few times in between conversations. At six I got a phone call from my mum, which woke me up from one of the longer naps. I decided that it was a good time to go home, so I said goodbye and merry Christmas to Davinia and Amanda and her family, and then I got on my motorcycle and went home.
At home I spent time on my computer. I didn't actually end up watching a bunch of movies set in Christmas (eg. Die Hard, Gremlins, Home Alone, etc.), so that is one plan that I guess I will delay until next year. I had to take Hannah and Susanna for dinner at McDonald's, but I was tired and wanted to take a half-hour nap first. Hannah gave me a six-minute massage instead, which was better than a nap so we got to leave sooner. When we got back home again I found this book called "The Pig that Wants to be Eaten (And 99 other thought experiments)" and I ended up reading more than half of it. It's really good. I also played a bit of blackjack. I started the game up two because Joel had played a few rounds on my behalf, and at my peak I was up six. I ended up breaking even, though. Then Ian had a bunch of people over for poker, and I went downstairs to swim thirty laps.
When I got back everyone was about to leave, so I took a shower and just kept reading thought experiments. Eventually I got tired and went to bed. Christmas was okay.

This is a Title, and Under It Is a Post
So let's see, today I woke up, had lunch (spaghetti carbonara, very delicious), joined my brother and friends for blackjack (I broke even), went for a swim with Hannah, walked the stairs, dropped my motorcycle off for servicing, went with my dad and Hannah to meet her friends at their house, and then went on the computer for the rest of the day.
I spent a large portion of the night chatting with this Australian guy about relationships and getting stranded on an island and where we lived and such. He managed to become the third party in a lesbian relationship for a while, which is awesome. He also is quite close to having a 42-year-old girlfriend, which is also pretty cool. And he has been having an on-and-off relationship with a girl since they were 6. He also went to a party on an island a kilometre or so from shore and got left behind with a couple of the girls he was with and had to spend the night there until they got rescued by a boat. His life is awesome and he's 16. I'm very jealous.
Anyway tomorrow I'll be doing nothing. It should be nice. The day after that I'm taking Hannah and her friends to Sunway, where I'll either wander the mall or join them in the theme park, depending on whether I have RM50 or RM100 left in my bank.

Filling Space 'Til The Next Update
Last Thursday I went to watch Gamer and eat lunch with my brothers. It was a fun show, but very stupid. Lunch was quite heavy, as it usually is when I eat at Burger King. I stand by my belief that it is the best fast food place. Right when I got home I got a call from Ian, my older brother, saying that the Hitz.fm cruisers were nearby. I drove out to meet them outside a Domino's and hung out for a while. I used my rock-paper-scissors skills to win some freebies. Later on we played a drinking game with cinnamon sticks instead of shots. I think I would've prefered shots, because after a heavy lunch and four sticks I was really really close to puking. I made it out with my lunch still inside me, though, and I had a good time. I also won a few ringgit worth of pizza vouchers, so that was nice, too.
The next day was Orientation Night. I helped out. It was okay. I mostly chatted with the other organizers while waiting for the thing to start. The night started with a meal, with most of the organizers going to McDonald's to buka puasa. I went with them because I prefer fast food over whatever was catered. After that there were dance and magic presentations, and then a bunch of games. There weren't half as many people as there had been last semester, so that was disappointing, but we had a good time anyway. I only did a little bit of ridiculous seizuring "dancing", so I didn't embarass myself as much as last time either. All in all it was a pretty okay affair.
When I got home I got a call from someone claiming to be the mother of Zach, some guy in my circle of friends from college. She wanted to know where he was, who he was with, etc. I told her that I didn't know but he was probably clubbing with friends. She asked for some phone numbers from some people and I gave them to her. She called back a few times to ask about the Orientation Night and stuff, so I gave her the details. Finally she called me and asked me to pass the phone to her son, which I found odd as I was at home on my computer with no idea where her son was. She hung up on me.
Later, I was IMing with another friend, Elo, and I told her about the calls. She told me that that lady wasn't Zach's mother, she was his girlfriend. Apparently she's crazy. Huh.
So, anyway, everything else has been fine. I'm down to my last RM50 or so for the month, but I got my dad to agree to raise my allowance by RM50 for allowance. I'm also learning from my maid how to cook french fries tonight, which should come in really handy whenever I get cravings for fried deliciousness in the future.
Also, I got my front motorcycle indicators replaced. They're white and dim and they don't blink, but they do look a bunch cooler than the old orange ones I used to have. While I was driving back from the motorcycle shop I checked out the Mist Club, where HELP is organizing a fashion show that I'll be attending to see Andrew, a dude I've played poker with, and Juria, a girl from college, and a bunch of other people model a bunch of stuff. It'll be my first time in a club, so that should be interesting. Anyway, when I checked out the club I saw a notice there that talked about the dress code and rules and such. I don't have a problem with getting a collared shirt, but the age limit of 23 might not be so easy to get around. I'm just hoping it's not enforced since I've already bought my pass.
